Fibrous pieces should be handled carefully to avoid splintering or fraying. Prefer gentle dry cleaning with a soft cloth or brush.
Water Exposure
Avoid soaking or routinely washing Selenite. Gypsum has measurable water solubility, and prolonged moisture can dull, roughen or damage the surface, particularly in fibrous or polished material. Prefer dry cleaning. Do not use Selenite to prepare drinking-water crystal infusions or elixirs.
Sunlight Exposure
Ordinary indirect light is generally suitable, but prolonged intense sunlight and excessive heat should be avoided. Heating can affect hydrated gypsum, while dyes, coatings, adhesives or associated components may also deteriorate.
Salt Cleansing
